La Roggia is obtained after a long drying process using the best grapes from the La Roggia vineyard, on the slopes of Monte Sausto in San Pietro in Cariano.
It is a refined red “passito” (dried grape sweet wine), extraordinarily rich and all-encompassing. It is a tempting, meditative wine which complements classic, traditional desserts.

Vineyards

La Roggia property in the municipality of San Pietro in Cariano, lying on the southeastern hillside of Monte Sausto at an altitude of 160 m./a.s.l..

Grape Varieties

Corvina Veronese 65%,
Rondinella 30%,
Other indigenous varieties 5%.

Vinification

Manual selection of the finest bunches, followed by drying for around 110 days, with a loss of about 42% in the weight of the grapes. These are destemmed and pressed and fermentation with maceration takes place in temperature-controlled stainless steel tanks

Ageing

24 months in 225 l. French oak barriques. Maturation in bottle for 6 months.

Alcohol Content

13,5% vol.

Tasting Note

Garnet red in color, it has a penetrating bouquet with sweet hints of raisins, violets and jam. Rich and velvety, concentrated and full-bodied on the palate

Serving Suggestions

Excellent with desserts and especially with dry pastries, it is delicious with nuts or chocolate, too. Also recommended for accompanying blue cheeses.
